Andorra
World Cup day 2
The track dried out a lot with all of the piste sections going
dusty and the woods went from muddy to tacky. Most people switched
to dry tyres today only to change back to spikes or cut spikes
later in the day.

Timed training was today, only a few of the big hitters did a
time, Minnaar was the fastest o a 2.37, Peaty did a 2.38, Ruaridh
2.40 and Simmonds 2.41. Ruaridh looked at home on the track and
seemed to be going really well.

I haven’t really seen the Athertons rinsing out the runs
like they normally do, maybe saving some energy for race day.
Rennie was looking good in practice today, poppin power wheelie’s
and drifting the turns.

Peaty kept his bike glued to the top turns with not a drift in
sight. JD Swanguen took a big digger, he walked away with nothing
more than cuts and bruises. Scotty Beaumont went flying off the
track and managed to miss all of the tree’s.
Today is now the morning of day 3, we have had rain overnight
and judging by how black the sky is we’ll be in for some
more today. Practice doesn’t start til 12 so everybody is
having a chilled morning. As I write this now its start to piss
down. Keep it locked for the latest after practice. We are gonna
get some words and predictions from the riders. The rain has now
stepped it up even more and is like and Dave Garland reckons its
like Nevegal 97, I’d say more Kaprun 2002. Whatever, its
raining hard. Cut spikes are now being quickly changed for full
spikes.
Apparently this is going to be Lopes’s last World Cup, he
is going to race Word Champs and that it. He is apparently going
to get into the Super D and Endurance side of Downhill with things
like the Mega Avalanche and stuff like that.
