2 Riders 2 Podiums
A great start to the season for SR Racing
David Jaquin #55 – Senior 4th place
Chad Boxall #88 – Junior 4th place
The sun came out as the clocks went forward for this Easter weekend for the first round of the British 4X Series.
Widely regarded as one of the best tracks in the country Afan was the scene for some great racing and some solid results for David and Chad. Scott opted not to race due to a back injury and with such a rough track he wanted to be fully fit for the next race.
After a day of practice and getting lines dialled on Saturday racing spun into action on Sunday morning and the battles were fought. Chad had an impressive day only dropping one win in his three motos to safely secure him a place in the semi finals. David had a tougher day but ended up in a run off to get through. Three riders meant only a win would be enough, which he got!
With both riders through to the semi finals things were hotting up! Chad came through a stormer and even after blowing his hand off the bars in the rock garden managed to hold it together for the win landing him in the A Final. David too had a good race, with a top 2 being good enough for the final he made it through with a solid race.
Finals time. David was up first in the Senior category, having come through the biggest field of the day it was all to play for. The race was tight with close racing all the way down, everyone made it down in one piece but a small mistake in the rocks left him in 4th. Still a great start to the season in his first A Final and first 4X podium. The hours in the turbo trainer seem to be paying off!
Chad was up next and after an even gate start the battle was on, some tight racing and overtaking in the first section put Chad in the mix but he too ended the race in 4th.
A great weekend of racing and with all the team kit and equipment performing faultlessly all weekend. The guys know they have setups they can rely on through the roughest of UK tracks, thanks to all who have supplied the team this year.
