I’ve just spent the last couple of days exhibiting the 2012 Bike Place trade show with other brands such as Santa Cruz, Orange, Transition. It was at the home of British motorsport, Silverstone race track an amazing venue.

So since I last wrote this blog I have been crazy busy and all over the place but finally have found sometime to sit down and bang some keys on what I have been up to over the past few weeks.

Just been looking on the Dirt website and seen the pics of Burgtec rider Brook MacDonald and his new carbon DH rig. I think I’m gonna have to ask for a joint birthday and Xmas present next year.

The North America world cup tour is the summer holiday every year. Round 4 was at Mont Saint Anne so a flight into Montreal to meet up with the team was the first stop

We had a awesome time at the National champs at the weekend good crowds, good racing and good event! The weather always helps and it was lovely hot sunny weekend in Llangollen.

Burgtec rider Josh Bryceland hurt himself bad in Windam but still managed to come down in 13th place which was a pretty good result considering he wasn’t going to race

Stateside! The Canada and American world cups are 2 of the most prestige events of the year in my opinion because there is such a different mind set and exciting feeling at these rounds.

We couldn’t be happier for Burgtec’s newest signing Brook Macdonald at the moment. The boy is flying right now and is one of the new boys leading the charge along with long time Burgtec rider Josh Bryceland.

Bring the heat or get beat; Mont Sainte Anne

Monte Sainte Anne, the classic brutal track has been well documented over the years. This mountain has been on the circuit every year since 1993. Because of its brutal nature and its reputation of being a “mans track” it’s the one everyone wants to win at or prove there worth.

We are Currently at Mont Saint Anne and Windam World Cups. We are operating as normal but drop us an email and we will call you back if you need any questions answering or need some product. Normal service resumed from July the 12th.

For the short time Llangollen has been going as a race track I feel it has already become a firm favourite with racers who want to be tested. The race venues steepness makes an incredible track to compete on.

the weekend after leogang was a bit of a hectic one for me, Steve’s birthday was on the friday so we ended up going to watch a stone roses cover band in barnsley. i set out with good intentions but one thing led to another

After a disappointing result in South Africa i went to Fort William with a clear head, The track builders had done a bit of work there, trying to make it flow better and i was feeling good.

Just at Montreal airport waiting for the remainder of my team to arrive and there’s a lack of Canada’s talent today to check out so I’m on the business e-mails. Shame.

Sometimes you look at what other people do for a living and think ‘there’s no way could I do that’. Then other times you look at what other people do for a living and think ‘ damn, I wish I could do that’. Watch Burgtec riders Wyn and Brook doing there daily grind!

Fresh off his Fort William podium comes part 3 of Kiwi pinner and Burgtec rider Brook Macdonald.

6 weeks after the 1st World Cup in South Africa it was time to get to what many of the riders were calling a ‘proper track’. Fort William is always one of the toughest if not the toughest race’s of the year.

I was checking what was going down on Twitter when I saw a tweet from Jacob Gibbans who had just uploaded a shoot with Burgtec riders Sam Dale and Josh Bryceland. Jacob is one of my favourite paps out there at the moment and has got some awesome shots of the lads doing what they do best… cause mayhem on there bikes.

Over the years I can’t think how many times I’ve raced at Bringewood, it’s always a good track that produces some good racing. As usual the Pearce Cycles crew had the event running like clock work; they don’t get the reputation as the best organised races in the country for nothing

So at the weekend I raced at Round one of the IXS European cup at Monte Tamaro, Switzerland. I wasn’t really planning on actually racing as it was my first time back on the bike since my injury at the beginning of February

For those of you who don’t know Charles Robertson he’s Burgtec’s photographer this year and will be providing me with his own take on the 2011 race season, starting with Moelfre BDS round 2.

A great little vid with Harry at home in Congleton shot by Jacob Gibbins. Harry’s lucky enough to have a Dad who is just as Keen on riding as he is and this helps when you want to build a pump track in the backyard. I don’t know many folks that would let their offspring do that!

What a difference a round makes. A month ago at Nant G for the race season opener the weather was nothing short a crap, cold, wet, and miserable. But Moelfre for the 2nd National judging from the weather reports was going to be amazing. I wasn’t going to get my hopes up just yet though.

This week has been a flat out, packed out one. Leaving Lousa , Portugal on monday after packing the bike and giving the gym a seeing to. Tuesday ended up a big travel day driving to Madrid airport which was 7 hour drive to then miss my flight by 5mins

So it’s been nearly 3 weeks since I hit the deck in Nelson, whist racing Round 4 of the NZ DH Cup, here’s a run down on what happened down there.

This is the last week for me until the season kicks off and I can’t wait. My race bike has turned up in February which has never happened since I started racing in 2006 and being before time is something I quite like.

t’s always a giddy time of year when pedal production gets under way. For us there is nothing like seeing half tonne of aluminium turn up and begin the process of being made into a penthouse flat pedal. I know it’s sad but it still gives me a funny feeling after all these years.

It was the 1st year of the Bike Bike Place trade show and what a success it was. Big thanks goes out to the organisers Sean and his team from Surf Sales who put on a plethora of great brands including ourselves, Transition, Santa Cruz, Yeti, Endura, Juice Lubes, Devinci and Schwalbe to name but a few.

The Bike Place is a trade show for the bike industry 30th Jan – 1st Feb at Turweston Flight Centre. We on the same weekend as the Core bike show and only a couple of miles down the road from it. So if your making the journey down it makes sense to come see both shows.

It’s Christmas which could only mean one thing the annual Burgtec Christmas party. DC and I would like to thank the riders who made it along to the party through the snow and ice. It was a great end of year blow out and everybody who was there enjoyed themselves to the excess.

When god created Champery he must have been on the crack pipe! It is one hell of a gnarly place. The track was sooo steep it was near impossible to walk up and you were in for some blisters walking down.

AE Forest has been rested for a few years as an NPS venue and it was welcomed back by all the riders with its popular mix of all the vital ingredients needed for a DH race.
